Summary: Good purchase.
Comment: Always had good luck with Sharp microwaves. Pleased with performance. I am disappointed with the "plastic" window on front door...scratches easily.

Summary: Excellent microwave.
Comment: We needed a family sized microwave and this one had all the features we were looking for (minute plus, well-lit clock, preset cooking for popcorn, baked potato etc).
We have been very satisfied for the past month. We noticed that it is a bit quieter than others before. We have owned Sharp microwaves before. We did research a lot before buying and considered other brands. This one had the value for the money and the size we required.

Summary: Microwave Oven
Comment: My old microwave was a Goldstar which gave a good 8 years of heavy-duty service. There were a few things I didn't like about it though. The white door-mesh made it almost impossible to see what was happening in the oven and there was no way to program a preferred cooking time for one-touch operation. Also, I didn't care for the completion tone. When the oven gave out, I immediately went to Amazon. I wanted a black oven for better visibility inside and low cost. Soon, I resticted my search to this model. The fact that shipping was free cinched the deal. My oven arrived in a big box with the picture on the front (no birthday surprise on this one), and I found the oven to unpack easily. A useful tip: Don't tear open the flaps as I did, just remove the big staples.
One reviewer commented that the buttons seem to quickly wear out. I had the same experience. After only a week of use, I noticed that the buttons were starting to "tear". However, I now believe that this is NOT the buttons tearing but rather some kind of protective film. You know how some TV screens and MP3 players have that disposable clear film on them that comes off, IF you discover it's not part of the actual screen? It seems to be that stuff. I could find no mention of it in the manual and I'm too lazy to call product support about it. I'll just let the film wear and see about getting rid of it later. In any case, I'm past warrantee. I still don't have programable timing on one-touch and I still don't care for the completion tone. Funny how cell-phones have endless ring-tone options but no manufacturer seems to be aware of how annoying some ovens completion tones are. Why not make them programmable, also?

Summary: Sharp Looking Micro
Comment: Good power, very roomy, and is what I wanted. I moved from a smaller to a bigger micro, and this provides good room. 4 star only because the LED display needs you to look a little bit in line of sight but not a problem though as it performs really well with all the options and modes.

Summary: A Decent Microwave
Comment: Maybe it's because my last two microwaves were built like tanks that I was surprised at how this one is built--just doesn't have the feeling of quality my last two had. In particular is a plastic film on the door that you can make thump like a drum--my previous ones were glass.
Having said that for the 99 dollars I paid for it I think I got a good bit of value for my money. It's roomy and also more powerful than my previous 'waves--I've had to adjust my mental calculator for this one.
